Two oldies today: a British 1876 pattern Martini-Henry rifle socket
bayonet with scabbard and a flintlock pistol that dates to before
1830. One antique arms dealer described this model of pistol as,
"English Flint Pistol by Sharpe, Made for the American Trade. 9"
round brass barrel, .58 cal...a class of pistol that armed many
Militia officers and Militia cavalry troopers, wagon drivers and
canal and river boatmen, as well as citizens from New York to St.
Louis in the 1800 to 1840's era." This is missing the forward part of
the wood stock, but based on the patina on the barrel and the rest of
the wood, it has been missing for a long time. These typically sell
for about $800-2000. I am asking $360 for this one.
THE PISTOL HAS BEEN SOLD
The socket bayonet is $120. It is hard to find these with the
scabbard. This one is dated 1/83 both the scabbard and the blade are
marked, including with the broad arrow and WD mark of the British War
Department.

Medals from WWII Army airborne infantry soldier
This soldier was wounded in the Philippines in WWII while fighting
with the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment. You can see more photos
copies of his documents at
http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/258302-three-war-vets-bronze-stars-purple-hearts/
The Bronze Star was likely received post-WWII for his combat infantry
service. He also has another Bronze Star with a device showing it is
a second award. I have no information on that or the engraved Army
Commendation Medal here received. He served in Vietnam so those may
be from that era. At some point after his death his family received
duplicates of his other WWII medal, ribbons, jump wings and Combat
Infantry Badge.
Asking $325 plus shipping. Call me if you need new info.
