China Marine painting by Mary Augusta Mullikin

This is an interesting one: a 1946 portrait of a US Marine, painted in China in 1946 by renowned artist Mary Augusta Mullikin, famed for her China landscapes. This was painted after she was released from the Japanese prisoner of war camp where she had spent World War II. I have a lot more about her and the subject of the painting here: http://hudsonmilitaria.com/Mullikin/

WWII leather A-2 flight jacket patches

Found this recently: it's all from a World War II bombardier in the 5th Air Force, 461st Bombardment Group, 766th Bombardment Squadron - The Liberaiders.

These are handpainted leather patches and one can only imagine how cook they'd look on an A2 flight jacket.
