A Marine who fought on Guadalcanal brought home from the Pacific this interesting combination of a 1943 British machete scabbard and a 19th century Spanish machete/short sword. The Marine wrote his name, rank, serial number and Pacific duty stations on the back of the scabbard. You can read about it at http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/270451-guadalcanal-marines-machete-sword/
